Time commitment
The minimum time commitment governors are expected to make for the role is attending all formal Council of Governors meetings plus the governors away days. The maximum time commitment will depend on your personal interests and how much you wish to get involved in the subcommittees.
Meetings
Meeting dates are set annually to give governors as much notice as possible.
Public meetings
Governors are also able to attend public Board of Directors meetings. These offer the opportunity for governors and members of the public to ask questions.
Closed meetings
Closed meetings are attended only by governors and respective Trust directors.

Terms of office
Elected governors (public, patient and staff constituencies) may hold office for a period of up to three years, and may stand for re-election twice. After nine years in the role, elected governors must leave the Council of Governors.
