The HIV team behind Klick, a digitally enabled pathway, have been awarded the HSJ Partnership Award 2024 for the Most Effective Contribution to Clinical Redesign.

The HIV team behind Klick, a digitally enabled pathway, have been awarded the HSJ Partnership Award 2024 for the Most Effective Contribution to Clinical Redesign.

The Klick app was first launched in partnership with Avegen, Viiv Healthcare and the Trust’s CW Innovation programme as a pilot in Kobler clinic in 2018 and offers a digital pathway of care for people living with HIV. The app allows people living with HIV to book and reschedule clinic appointments remotely, submit clinical information in advance of their appointment, choose their preferred mode of consultation (virtual or face to face), access a comprehensive holistic annual review, view routine test results, order medication and receive health care messages from the clinical team.

Following the pilot, Klick was rolled out to all Kobler clinic patients, then launched at 56 Dean Street and 10 Hammersmith Broadway and is currently launching at West Middlesex Hospital. Over 5800 patients have registered on the app and >2000 use the app in any given month.

The HSJ Partnership Awards celebrate and spotlight the best collaborations within the NHS and private sector and their vital contributions to delivering outstanding quality of care.

Dr Sara Day, Consultant Physician HIV / Sexual Health and Clinical Lead for Klick, shares "The idea behind Klick was twofold: the first was to give people living with HIV agency in navigating their care in clinic, and the second was upskilling our nursing workforce to start delivering HIV outpatient care to stable patients, which has in turn enabled senior clinicians to allocate more time with individuals with complex or urgent healthcare needs."

Congratulations to the team for this incredible achievement.
