Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club pay special visit to paediatric patients and their families
20 December 2024
Members from the men's and women's Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Team made a surprise visit to the Starlight and Sunshine Wards at West Middlesex.
On 18th December, Ollie, Danny, Sam, William, Max and Jordy from the men’s Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Team, as well as Kate and Lindelwa from the women’s team, made a surprise visit to the Starlight and Sunshine Wards at West Middlesex University Hospital.
The squad visited our young patients, some as young as one week old, to deliver festive presents and spread cheer this Christmas period. They talked at length with patients’ families, took photos with patients, helping to make special memories and generously showed their support by donating to the Trust’s charity, CW+.
Brett, coach for the men’s team, shared a personal message of thanks to staff as his son had been cared for on the Starlight ward over the past couple of years.
Staff at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust were pleased to see the team and are grateful for them taking the time to visit paediatric patients and their families this Christmas. Visits like this help bring a smile to patients faces at a time when being in hospital can be difficult. Thank you Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club!
