18 April 2024
To collectively mark International Day of the Midwife, International Nurses Day , and National ODP Day, staff will be participating in the Fulham Palace parkrun.
To collectively mark International Day of the Midwife (5 May), International Nurses Day (12 May), and National ODP (operating department practitioner) Day (14 May), staff from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will be joining forces and participating in the Fulham Palace parkrun.
Rob Bleasdale, Chief Nursing Officer at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust said: “As part of celebrating each of these healthcare professions, this year our Trust will be bringing together a team of runners, walkers, supporters and volunteers and taking part in our local parkrun to mark these days. Everyone is invited to join - you don’t have to be a midwife, nurse or ODP to get involved and show your support for these professions that help the NHS provide the very best care.”
You can walk, jog, run, volunteer or come along to cheer on others as we celebrate and recognise the enormous contribution and commitment of our nursing and midwifery colleagues across the NHS, health and social care.
Chief Nursing Officer for NHS London, Jane Clegg will be in attendance on the event day, Saturday 11 May, cheering on nurses, midwives, ODPs and wider colleagues from across the NHS.
With more than 1,240 parkrun events taking place across the UK every weekend, parkrun offers a safe and inclusive space for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to be more active and social while getting outdoors.
Participants are invited to wear NHS blue or colourful fancy dress, and encourage colleagues, patients, friends and family to come along too.
