On 18th September 2024, Andrew Gywnne, Minister for Public Health, and Rachel Blake, MP for the City of London and Westminster, visited award-winning sexual health services, 56 Dean Street and Dean Street Express, in the heart of Soho.
Andrew and Rachel were welcomed by various team members, including Tara Suchak, Service Lead for 56 Dean Street and TransPlus, Diarmuid Nuget, Service Director for Sexual Health, Marta Boffito, HIV Clinical Director of Sexual Health Services and Adam Gray, Divisional Director of Operations Specialist Care.
During their visit they toured around various clinical and non-clinical spaces, including 56 Dean Street’s recently refurbished 4th floor, where TransPlus, the UK’s first integrated gender, sexual health and HIV service is located.
They also visited Dean Street Express’s state of the art facilities, which this year marked its 10 year anniversary, and learned how patients can conveniently and efficiently access sexual health testing services.
The visit concluded with a round-table discussion about current projects and initiatives at Dean Street, as well as highlighting the unique pressures that sexual health services face in London, and how the team can be better supported to deliver the government’s HIV action plan.
