Patient-led environment assessment opportunity

21 August 2024

We are looking for patients to get involved in Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE).

The Trust will be conducting the national Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment (PLACE) from 15–17 October across both of our hospital sites. PLACE is an initiative where staff and patients collaborate to evaluate various aspects of the hospital environment in which care is provided. These assessments focus on the following key areas:

  • Cleanliness, maintenance and condition
  • Accessibility and disability support
  • Dementia-friendly environments
  • Quality of food and tasting experience
  • Privacy and dignity of patients

A central objective of PLACE is to ensure that patient feedback drives the improvements made by the Trust. If you are a patient at either Chelsea and Westminster Hospital or West Middlesex University Hospital, and you would like to contribute to these assessments, we encourage you to contact our patient experience team:

We also welcome all who take part to be a patient voice and serve as a critical friend to the Trust—please let us know if you are interested in participating.
