Phlebotomy (Blood Test Department) Temporary Relocation—Chelsea and Westminster Hospital

06 February 2025

The Phlebotomy (Blood Test) Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital has been temporarily relocated to the entrance of Lower Ground Floor Outpatients.

The Phlebotomy (Blood Test) Department at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital will be moving temporarily to the entrance of the Lower Ground Floor Outpatients department, Lift Bank C/D from Mon 10 Feb- Fri 7 March. This is to facilitate essential refurbishment work, creating additional space for patients as well as more bleeding stations and storage. Please note: Phlebotomy (blood test department) will close at 3:30pm on Fri 7 Feb to commence preparations for decanting.

To accommodate this move, the Pain Physio team will be moved temporarily to the Wyman room on the Fourth floor. Patients who have appointments during this period will be notified individually.

Plans are now underway to support patients during this period, with clear signposting and advice will be provided. Signage will be displayed on the Lower Ground Floor to redirect patients to the temporary location along the corridor and we will be communicating this change in our wider patient communication channels.

We thank you for your patience and support during this temporary period. If you have any questions or for more information, please contact chelwest.cw.phlebotomy@nhs.net.
