28 August 2024

The One-Stop clinic is the latest sexual health and contraception clinic launched by Sexual Health Hounslow (SHH), which is available to the local community of Hounslow via telephone and online bookable appointments.

The One-Stop clinic is the latest sexual health and contraception clinic launched by Sexual Health Hounslow (SHH), part of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, which is available to the local community of Hounslow via telephone and online bookable appointments.

The One-Stop clinic - which is piloting on Wednesday 4th September 2024 for one month, will be at the Heart of Hounslow clinic, an accessible location situated in the borough of Hounslow - will offer an all-encompassing sexual health and contraception service. This includes a wide range of services from sexual health testing, contraception including emergency contraception (as well as emergency IUD fittings), free condoms for under 25’s (as part of the c-card scheme), PrEP and PEP provisions, and treatment for sexual infections.

The local community can access the One-Stop clinic every Wednesday between 1-6pm, by either calling 020 8321 5718 the Monday of that week, or by booking an appointment online the Tuesday of that week. There will be walk-in appointments subject to availability. Here, service users will be able to discuss their sexual health and contraception care confidentially with consultants, nurses and health advisors.

Josefina Abidou, Senior Public Health Officer for Sexual Health, said:

“We are pleased to continue collaborating with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, our main provider of integrated sexual health services in Hounslow. We hope the launch of the One-Stop clinic will continue to improve the sexual health of the local community in Hounslow. It is vital that all residents have access to safe and confidential sexual health and contraceptive services.”

Gillian Avery, Clinic Manager, Sexual Health Hounslow said:

“As one of the leading providers in sexual health services across London, we are proud to launch the pilot of the new One-Stop clinic, which will improve access to care and offer a safe, confidential space for the people of Hounslow.”

The opening of the One-Stop clinic coincides with Sexual Health Week, the national awareness campaign running from 9th-15th September, which aims to increase awareness of the importance of maintaining good sexual health care and knowledge of specialist services available.

The launch of this new clinic is a continuation of SHH’s commitment to reducing health inequalities in the borough of Hounslow, following on from the opening of the Sky Clinic, providing treatment and support specifically for men who have sex with men (MSM) and the transgender community, and the Sunflower Clinic, which caters to the specific needs of people who work in the sex and adult entertainment industries.
