Trust celebrates success at HSJ Partnership Awards 2025

21 March 2025

We are proud of winning two HSJ Partnership Awards 2025, reflecting our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.

Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is proud to announce its achievements at the HSJ Partnership Awards 2025, reflecting our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and excellence in patient care.

Award wins:

  • Environmental Sustainability Project of the Year: The Trust, in partnership with Preventx, was recognised for the Sexual Health London (SHL) e-service, which provides free sexual health testing for London residents. The online platform allows users to order test kits, receive results, and access support remotely, with around 50,000 kits sent out monthly. The award-winning project prioritised sustainability and innovation, redesigning test kits to cut single-use plastic by over 80%, saving 4.5 tonnes of plastic waste. This initiative has improved accessibility to sexual health services while reducing the carbon footprint of traditional clinic visits.
  • Most Effective Contribution to Improving Cancer Outcomes: Collaborating with Skin Analytics, the Trust implemented an AI-powered teledermatology service in 2022, as a pilot then moving to standard practice. This service utilises artificial intelligence to assess skin lesions, enabling dermatologists to focus on patients with suspected skin cancer. The integration of this technology has led to earlier detections and improved patient outcomes. Read more about this service in The Times.

High Commendation:

  • Most Effective Contribution to Integrated Health and Care: Our partnership with Skin Analytics also received high commendation for integrating AI technology into our dermatology services. This collaboration has streamlined patient pathways, reduced waiting times, and enhanced the overall patient experience by providing timely and accurate assessments.

The award ceremony took place in Evolution Battersea on Thursday 20 March 2025, with Sara Day (SHL Clinical Lead), Sophie Jones (SHL Service Manager), Sinead Simpson (SHL Health Adviser) and Aditya Aggarwal (HIV Deputy General Manager) there to accept the award.

These achievements highlight our dedication to embracing innovative solutions and working collaboratively with industry partners to enhance patient care. We extend our gratitude to our teams and partners for their unwavering commitment to excellence and inspiring innovation.
