Welcoming our 8th cohort of international medical graduates
20 June 2024
Find out more about our induction week, welcoming 17 new IMGs across North West London.
We recently held our latest International Medical Graduate (IMG) induction week and were honoured to be joined by Professor Geeta Menon, National Dean for Inclusive Integrated Careers and Lead Dean for SAS and Locally Employed Doctors and National Lead for Medical Workforce Race Equality Standard (MWRES).
This is the 8th cohort of IMGs recruited into North West London Acute Provider Collaborative trusts, with a total of 17 doctors joining us from across NWL:
- 3 from Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
- 9 from London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
- 1 from Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- 2 from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
- 2 from Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust
We are proud to welcome and support this cohort as they begin their NHS careers.
Professor Menon gave an inspiring talk to graduates, reflecting on her own experience as an IMG, highlighting ways to overcome challenges in practical ways and stressed the value of skills that IMGs bring into the NHS. She also advised on career pathways and development for IMGs. We are grateful to Professor Menon for joining us for this event and she continues to be a huge champion and supporter of the work we do.
Well done to all involved in making this a successful induction week!
