Kindness campaign

The ambition of the NHS is to provide a workforce that is inclusive and demonstrates equality, offering healthcare that reflects these values. Our staff are proud to care for you—we commit to treating all patients and visitors with respect, kindness and courtesy, and expect the same in return.

The kindness campaign posters can be seen across both our Chelsea and West Middlesex sites. We hope you will join our Trust on this journey to ensure kindness is both given and received by our patients and visitors.

The kindness campaign was recognised and shortlisted for a prestigious CIPR Excellence award in the public sector campaign category in 2021

Lesley Watts (CEO) said: “Being unfailingly kind is one of our Trust values and yet we know staff are not always treated as such by some of our patients and visitors. We have developed a new poster campaign featuring staff speaking out and sharing their stories which is visible across our sites. It celebrates the diversity of our workforce and encourages us all to think of each other and act as we would wish—with respect, kindness and courtesy. The posters capture the essence of who our staff are—caring professionals, including clinicians and others, who are proud to care for our patients. A personal and heartfelt thank you to all involved in this project, including those willing to share their lived experiences.”

Sam Slaytor (Head of Inclusion, Wellbeing and Engagement) said: “The kindness campaign is a great Trustwide initiative, and the Inclusion, Wellbeing and Engagement  team are fully committed to ensuring that we provide the support staff need. Staff should feel safe—they shouldn’t be abused or treated poorly. There is no place for incivility and disrespect in our Trust. We want patients and visitors to be part of the change they want to see, and join us in our quest to spreading a little more kindness.”
