Postgraduate medical education

Welcome

Our role is to support the education and training of all doctors in the Trust. This includes foundation year doctors, core trainees, staff grades, associate specialists, and consultants.

We continually develop the academic programme for the foundation programme and core medical trainees, providing high-quality teaching to meet their curriculum needs. Hospital-wide, we arrange the grand round, which is a great platform for teams to present interesting cases or advances in the field to a multispecialty and multidisciplinary audience. We also provide an array of courses across different grades of doctors.

The team is supported by two postgraduate medical education fellows who are doctors in the middle of their specialty training with an interest in medical education. During their post, they have the opportunity to undertake further qualifications in medical education including a PGCert, diploma or masters.
