Volunteering at the Trust
Volunteering at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital gives you the chance to support patients and staff at your local hospital.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Trust and for helping to support your local community.
Volunteering at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital gives you the chance to support patients and staff at your local hospital. Volunteers have non-clinical roles that make a positive impact and improve the experience of patients using the hospital. Volunteers come from all walks of life and represent the diversity of the communities we serve.
As a volunteer, you will develop a comprehensive understanding of an acute hospital, have the opportunity to communicate directly with patients, and experience working in a team with NHS staff and other volunteers as you help provide a positive experience for the patient. You will develop new skills and meet new people. You will also have access to a variety of in-placement training with subject matter experts, as well as awards and recognition.

Get involved and Have your say
We involve our patients, their families and carers in the design, development and delivery of our services. You can help us review our services by taking part in our events and activities. If this is of interest, you can read our patient representative guide or contact the patient experience team for further information.
Does the Trust offer work experience?
Our volunteering programme is a 6 month weekly placement and is different to work experience.
Work experience is usually a short term placement lasting about a week to observe staff in their working environment.

Care Leaver Covenant
We recognise the challenges that young people face when they leave the care system and begin to live independently. If you are a care leaver, then please contact Volunteering Services to discuss how we can help you through the application process and into a successful volunteering placement.
