Haematology (children)

What we do

Our consultant-led haematology clinic at West Middlesex is held once a month for children with a variety of haematology conditions requiring investigation. We provide joint care with our adult haematologist Dr Magda Al-Obaidi and our local haematology team.

Patients with haemoglobinopathies, such as sickle-cell disease and thalassaemia major, have their care shared with the haematology team at St Mary’s Hospital, with outreach clinics for their annual reviews at West Middlesex. For children who require regular transfusions, this is offered on the Sunshine Day Unit.
