FSRH clinical training

Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust offers Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health (FSRH) clinical training for doctors, nurses and associate physicians throughout the year. Clinical training for:

A pass in the eKA or OTA is required as a pre-requisite to our FSRH Letters of Competence including our LoC SDI-IR and LoC IUT. Be prepared to provide:

  • DBS
  • Copy of BLS/anaphylaxis certificate
  • Copy of OTA or EKA and date achieved
  • Copy of safeguarding (Adult & child) Level 3
  • Copy of eSRH Certificate

Please note: You will require an Honorary Contract with Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust in order to train with us. You will be invited to attend our HR department in person at Harbour Yard, SW10 OXD for ID/Document checks.

Costing for 2024/25

  • Clinical training for LoC SDI I-R is £400 for 5 sessions
  • Clinical training for LoC IUT is £750 for 8 sessions
  • Clinical training for the Diploma is £600 up to 8 sessions and 1 online case discussion
  • Any further sessions or a refresher for implant or coil training is £125

Please note: The number of sessions are a guideline and depending on each individual, could be more or less sessions. If you require less sessions the costing with remain the same however, if you require more there may be an additional cost. These prices are subject to review in March 2025.

Our Faculty Registered Trainers (FRTs) are based in John Hunter Clinic next to Chelsea and Westminster hospital, 10 Hammersmith Broadway, Twickenham House next to West Middlesex Hospital, Heart of Hounslow and 56 Dean Street.

Upcoming Virtual Training - SRH Essentials for Primary Care

The SRH Essentials for Primary Care provides practitioners with the tools to know what to do when seeing patients needing contraception, STI testing or emergency contraception.

  • Develop the skills and confidence to consult with patients about their sexual and reproductive healthcare needs
  • Recommend an appropriate method of emergency contraception
  • Review the COC, POP and injection contraceptive methods
  • Carry out sexual health risk assessments
  • Identify when patients are at risk of STIs

Assessment Half Day (AHD)

We have four Assessment Half Days (AHD) per year in one of our four clinics. These AHDs normally are in January, April, July and October.

Timings  9am–12:30pm 
Capacity  10 trainees 
Costing  £300 to be paid to secure spot

  • Wednesday 23rd April 2025 - 10 Hammersmith Broadway
  • Wednesday 9th July 2025 - John Hunter Clinic, next to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital
  • Wednesday 19th November 2025  - 10 Hammersmith Broadway

On the day  Refreshments will be provided throughout the morning. There is a spot to put your bags safely while  you do the assessment. Bring your favourite pen. If you have any special requirements prior to the day please let us know via email.
Results and review  Results will be available on the FSRH website within the week of the AHD. We welcome reviews and will share a survey post the AHD.
