Feedback and our MNVP

Welcome to our Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership

What is the MNVP?

Our Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership (MNVP) is a service user-led group that brings together service users, staff and other stakeholders to plan, review and improve maternity and neonatal care. We listen to women, birthing people and their families and ensure that those voices are at the heart of decision-making in maternity and neonatal services by being embedded within the leadership of provider trusts and feeding into the Local Maternity and Neonatal System (LMNS). This influences improvements in the safety, quality and experience of maternity and neonatal care.

MNVP Members

Members of our partnership include:

  • women, birthing people and families from a variety of communities, cultures and backgrounds that reflect the diversity of our local population.
  • midwives, nurses, health visitors, medics and managers
  • members of the wider community such as birth workers and charities

Who are the MNVP Leads?

  • Farhanah Khan (Maternity Lead)
  • Susan Ibuanokpe (Maternity Lead)
  • Helen Fairlie (Maternity Lead)
  • Abbie Mason-Woods (Neonatal Lead)

We need you!

We would love to welcome you into our partnership, however involved you'd like to be.

  • Perhaps you'd like to share your feedback on your maternity or neonatal experience with us, either via email or over the phone.
  • Perhaps you'd like to put some faces to names and join one of our virtual coffee mornings, in-person socials or bi-monthly MNVP meetings (where you can hear first-hand from Trust staff about improvements being made to our services). Babies, children and pets are always welcome!
  • Or perhaps you'd like to go so far as to visit the hospitals with us to make improvement recommendations, or help us co-produce leaflets, posters, letters and more, using your own experiences to help improve those of others.

Our Mission Intent and Values

Our Maternity and Neonatal Voices Partnership is here to put women, birthing people and their families, at the heart of all decision making in Maternity and Neonatal services, with an aim to plan, review and improve services for all.

As a team, we will foster listening relationships that Never assume someone’s experience. And we understand that we might need to actively seek out those who are under-represented, or seldom heard in order to ensure they are heard too.

We belieVe that women and birthing people are experts on their own care, and we know equity is crucial. That means every single Person having the same fair access to Maternity and Neonatal Services.
