What we do
We offer a comprehensive respiratory service for all inpatients and outpatients at both Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital. Our services cover a wide range of respiratory conditions, including:
- Asthma
- Bronchiectasis
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Interstitial lung diseases
- Lung cancer
- Lung nodules
- Respiratory failure
- Respiratory infections (including TB)
- Sleep-disordered breathing
- Stop smoking service
Outpatient services
Our outpatient services include general respiratory clinics, as well as specialised clinics for:
- Military patients
- Lung cancer (in collaboration with oncology, palliative care, and thoracic surgery)
- Tuberculosis (TB)
- COPD
- Sleep and ventilation
- COVID-19 follow-up and Post-COVID (Long COVID) care
These clinics are supported by an on-site lung function laboratory and stop smoking services.
Inpatient care
Our respiratory team provides care for admitted patients on a dedicated ward located near acute assessment areas (AAU/AMU). We offer inpatient non-invasive ventilation and have close links to the Intensive Care Unit. Specialist respiratory nurses offer expert care for conditions such as asthma, COPD, lung cancer and TB.
