Appointments office

What we ask you to do

  • Please check your appointment letter, which will confirm whether your appointment is face-to-face or virtual
  • You will also  receive a text reminder confirming your appointment

For face-to-face appointments:

  • Please allow at least two hours for your appointment – you might need to have other tests and we will try and arrange these on the same, in which case you might have to wait a little longer
  • Arriving early for your appointment does not mean we will be able to see you earlier

For virtual appointments:

  • You will speak to a doctor or nurse specialist over the phone or via video link
  • Please allow up to an hour either side of your appointment time

What we will do

  • We will try not to keep you for more than 30 minutes after your appointment time
  • Sometimes appointments are delayed and this is usually for a certain reason; we will always tell you why a delay has occurred and apologise
  • If you need further tests but need to leave and can’t wait for your tests, please tell a member of staff and we will try to arrange these for you on another day

If you need to change or cancel your appointment

If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. It is important to do this so that we can offer the appointment slot to someone else.

Missed appointments waste NHS resources and money – which could be spent on other areas of patient care.

Please be aware that we may discharge you back to your GP if you fail to attend a scheduled appointment or cancel an appointment more than once without letting us know.
