Enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS)
ERAS is a care pathway proven to help you to physically and mentally prepare for your surgery. It ensures you are well-informed about your care and gives you the tools you need to actively manage and improve your health throughout your treatment, thereby speeding up your recovery, reducing your time in hospital and improving your overall outcome.
These films, and the support to which they direct you, are designed to help you before, during and after surgery. This generic advice complements the specific guidance given by your clinical team during your appointments.
The ERAS pathway has initially launched for specific colorectal surgery patients and will expand to a wider group of patients in the future.
