Make, change or cancel an appointment
This information will help you make, change or cancel your appointment with us.
DrDoctor is our main communication platform—it allows you to view hospital letters and manage most appointments online.
Make an appointment
All GP referrals must made via the NHS eReferral Service (ERS) and appointments with us are booked through the same system. If you do not receive an appointment date within 40 days of your referral, please contact us.
Please note: You will need the booking reference number stated on your booking letter and a password/access code given to you by your GP practice. Please contact your GP practice if you do not have these details or have lost them.
Appointments are booked in one of the following ways:
- Your GP will book you while you are at your GP appointment
- You can call the ERS appointment line at 0345 608 8888—Mon–Fri, 8am–8pm, weekends/bank holidays, 8am–4pm (closed on Christmas Day)—call charges may vary
- You can book online at www.nhs.uk/referrals
- You can use a textphone and dial 0345 850 2250
- Booked by our hospital administration team on 020 3315 6666—Mon–Fri, 8am–5:30pm
Check an appointment
Do you need to check the details of your appointment, including whether it is face-to-face or virtual, or confirm that your appointment is still taking place?
You can check from computer, tablet or mobile phone:
- Log in to DrDoctor
- Navigate to ‘Appointments’
The date, time and format (face-to-face/telephone/video) of your appointment will be listed.
- Face-to-face appointment: Please come to the hospital at the scheduled time
- Telephone appointment: Please do not come to the hospital—a specialist will call you at the time of your appointment
- Video appointment: Please do not come to the hospital—you will be sent a link 1–2 hours before your appointment

If you need to change or are unable to make it to your appointment, please let us know as early as possible so we can offer the date and time to someone else.
